In a strategic move aimed at enhancing the quality of education and aligning academic outcomes with international professional standards, the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at UST announced the renewal of its academic partnership agreement with the International Council of Cybersecurity (EC-Council), a global leader in professional certification, for an additional three years.
This extension continues the partnership that began in 2022, which positioned the university as a regional leader in cybersecurity excellence. The collaboration has enriched the practical and professional experience of students in cybersecurity, networking, and IT disciplines by enabling them to obtain a range of internationally recognized professional certifications, including the Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI), as well as globally acknowledged certifications in network and web security.
The renewed agreement reaffirms the university’s commitment to empowering its academic and technical staff through specialized training programs and providing updated curricula that directly align with the fast-evolving global cybersecurity job market. This comprehensive update aims to enhance graduates’ competitiveness and readiness to enter both local and international job markets with confidence.
Prof. Bilal Al-Fuhaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, expressed pride in the renewal of the partnership, saying:
“Renewing the partnership with EC-Council reflects the university’s commitment to applying the highest global standards in education and training in the field of cybersecurity. This step aligns with our vision to prepare qualified national professionals equipped with global tools, capable of protecting digital infrastructure and supporting digital transformation in Yemen and the region.”
It is worth noting that EC-Council is one of the world’s leading accreditation bodies in the field, and UST is the first university in Yemen to obtain membership in this academic partnership—highlighting its pioneering role and commitment to quality and excellence in future-oriented disciplines.
