Sana'a — The University of Science and Technology held, on Monday, 21 September 2026, the Second Internal Swimming Championship for the academic year 1448 AH, organized by the Sports Activities Unit in the Student Activities Department of the Student Affairs Administration, in cooperation with the University Student Forum, with the participation of a number of UST students from various specializations.
The championship witnessed sports competitions characterized by enthusiasm, competitiveness, and fair competition among the participating students, as they were divided into three groups and competed according to a time system, so that at the end of the championship the top three places were determined based on the lowest recorded times.
The results of the championship resulted in student Mohammed Lamas winning first place, while student Yousef Al-Ridi came second, and student Yahya Al-Tabai came third.
The championship competitions were attended by the Director of Student Affairs, Mr. Salah Al-Aghbari, and the Sports Activities Specialist, Mr. Abdulhadi Al-Harazi, who followed the progress of the competitions, and at the end of the championship they honored the students who won the top three places, in appreciation of their outstanding performance and the results they achieved.
The holding of the championship comes within the framework of UST’s interest in activating sports and student activities, developing students’ talents and capabilities, and enhancing the values of positive competition and teamwork, contributing to providing an integrated university environment that combines academic achievement and active participation in extracurricular activities.
The championship affirmed the importance of sports activities in enhancing university life, and providing students with the opportunity to showcase their sports talents and abilities, in addition to consolidating the spirit of competition, discipline, and cooperation among them.
At the end of the championship, the winners of the top three places were honored, amid praise for the student participation and the efforts made in organizing the championship and making its events a success.
