Sana'a — Prof. Dr. Bilal Al-Fahidi, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, today inaugurated, accompanied by Dr. Jawad Al-Hamadi, Head of the Graphic Design and Multimedia Department, the Digital Image Processing Exhibition of second-level female students in the Graphic Design and Multimedia Program, at the Female Students Branch.
During the Dean of the Faculty’s review, accompanied by a number of heads of scientific departments, faculty members, and representatives of relevant labor market bodies, of the students’ works and designs, the Dean of the Faculty and the attendees praised the creative and artistic level reflected in the exhibited projects, and their distinguished diversity of ideas and quality of execution, valuing the students’ efforts and the skills and capabilities they demonstrated in employing design and digital processing techniques.
They also affirmed the importance of these applied works in translating academic knowledge and skills into realistic projects, and in enhancing the students’ capabilities and qualifying them in line with the requirements of the labor market in the fields of graphic design and multimedia.
The exhibition included a diverse collection of creative works and projects representing the outputs of the Digital Image Processing (1, 2) courses, where the works embodied the students’ employment of their skills in combining, processing, and enhancing images, and reproducing them in various artistic and technical styles, including the design of posters, visual identities, packaging, and wrapping (packages).
The exhibition also included a group of cinematic posters for local, regional, and international films, characterized by a diversity of ideas, visual treatments, and artistic direction, in addition to specialized models in the design of visual identities and advertising campaigns for a number of products and services in various food, cosmetic, and service fields.
The projects demonstrated the students’ ability to transform academic skills and knowledge into practical design applications that combine the creative aspect with the functional dimension, enhancing their readiness to engage in the labor market and respond to its renewed requirements in the fields of design, advertising, and visual communication.
The organization of the exhibition comes within the framework of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology’s interest in enhancing the applied aspect of the educational process, providing the opportunity for the Faculty’s students to display their creative outputs, and consolidating the culture of innovation and professional practice in the various specializations of the Faculty.
