Sana’a – The competitions of the eighth corporate seven-a-side football league concluded on Thursday at the Recreational Club stadium in Sana’a. The two-month tournament was organized by the Corporate Sports Federation, sponsored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and supported by Yemen Mobile Company, with the participation of 20 teams distributed into four groups.
CAC Bank team was crowned the tournament champion following an exciting victory in the final match against the International Bank of Yemen team via penalty shootouts 13–12, after the regular time ended in a goalless draw. The thrilling and competitive match saw both teams share performance and control, with penalty kicks ultimately deciding the showdown amid a massive crowd that filled the stadium stands and surroundings.
This edition of the corporate tournament is considered the most successful, particularly in terms of organization, discipline, technical level, fan turnout, and the absence of protests among the participating teams.
The closing ceremony took place in the presence of Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Nabeih Abu Shousha; Chief Executive Officer of Yemen Mobile, Eng. Amer Hazaa; Director of the Youth Office in the Capital Secretariat, Abdullah Obaid; General Director of Federations at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Wael Al-Qurashi; Head of the Corporate Sports Federation, Qasim Al-Wadai; and Director of Activities at the Youth, Sports, and Welfare Care Fund, Hamza Saleh. During the event, the championship trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize were awarded to the CAC Bank team, while the second-place trophy, silver medals, and a cash prize were presented to the International Bank of Yemen team.
Additionally, the University of Science and Technology was honored for its active participation in the league. The University team delivered a wonderful performance throughout the tournament, reflecting the excellence and spirit of teamwork characteristic of the University.
