Sana’a — Demonstrating its ongoing commitment to strengthening effective communication channels with students, the leadership of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Science and Technology (UST) held an open consultative meeting with student representatives and delegates across various departments, specializations, and academic levels to review the progress of the educational process during the semester, identify student challenges and obstacles, and explore effective solutions.

During the gathering, Prof. Dr. Bilal Abdullah Al-Fahidi, Dean of the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, affirmed that this meeting falls directly within the faculty’s policy of supporting direct interaction with students, listening to their feedback and proposals aimed at developing the educational environment, and elevating the quality of academic performance and student services. He further underscored the vital role played by student delegates as a primary bridge of communication between the faculty leadership and their peers.

During the session, students presented a number of observations and challenges related to academic, administrative, and service aspects. The Dean and the leadership of the respective departments addressed these points with utmost dedication, affirming their commitment to resolving them to ensure the provision of a stimulating and effective educational environment.

For his part, the Dean encouraged the students to exert greater effort in their academic journey, actively participate in student and scientific activities, and excel in technical competitions at local, regional, and international levels. He noted that the faculty strives to build an integrated academic and professional pathway for every male and female student by encouraging them to register on global training platforms, develop their technical and practical skills, and document their scientific projects and works by uploading them to designated electronic platforms. This approach reflects their academic standard and enhances their future career prospects in the job market.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of the importance of holding such gatherings periodically to foster participation and transparency, in alignment with the faculty’s overarching vision of achieving academic excellence and raising the quality of its educational outcomes.
