Sana’a— Early last week, Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Bilal Al-Fahidi inaugurated the summer semester for the 1446 AH academic year, corresponding to 2024–2025 AD.
Accompanied by Faculty of Engineering Dean Prof. Dr. Adnan Al-Mutawakkil, the dean toured the classrooms at the Faculty of Computing, inspecting student attendance, faculty member presence, and their commitment on the first day of classes for the summer semester.
The faculty dean thanked the academic department heads, program officials, and the financial and administrative affairs staff for creating a suitable environment for students to commence the educational process smoothly and systematically.
It is worth noting that the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology has operated under the credit hour system as its approved study framework since its establishment in 2011, allowing students to study for three semesters per academic year as a key advantage of the credit hour system.
Currently, the University of Science and Technology (UST) applies the credit hour system across all specializations, including medical programs, to enhance educational flexibility and empower students to improve their cumulative grade point averages and complete their graduation requirements in a shorter timeframe.
