Within the framework of preparing graduates of the Bachelor of Medical Laboratories program for the labor market, the Medical Education and Training Center in the female branch, in cooperation with the Department of Medical Laboratories at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology, implemented a training course in molecular diagnostic techniques that lasted for a week and consisted of 24 training hours.

The course targeted final-level students and graduates of the medical laboratory program.

The course provided the participating students with the opportunity for direct practical training on the technique of extracting DNA from cells, and the technique of preparing the PCR reaction mixture, in addition to practical training on programming the PCR device and operating it on the DNA samples extracted by the trainee students, as well as practical training on the technique of electrophoresis on agarose gel to separate and analyze the DNA molecules that were amplified in the PCR device.
