Admission and Registration Requirements

Applicants holding a General Secondary School Certificate from the Republic of Yemen, or its equivalent, are eligible for admission based on the minimum average determined annually.

Submission of all duly authenticated required documents, along with the application form, to the Admission and Registration Department.

Admission is granted in accordance with the university’s approved capacity, as sanctioned by the Ministry of Higher Education.

The student must pledge to comply with all applicable university regulations, rules, and instructions throughout the period of study.
Selection Criteria
Students applying to certain academic programs at the University of Science and Technology (UST) are required to undertake competitive selection assessments. These include placement testing, personal interviews, and evaluation based on academic averages and admission test results.
Subjects of the Admission Test
- Admission test subjects for the programs of General Medicine and Surgery, and Oral and Dental Medicine and Surgery:
(Biology – Chemistry – English, covering grades 10 to 12)
Required Documents for Yemeni Secondary School Graduates

Completed application form with all required information, in accordance with university regulations.

Original General Secondary Certificate, duly authenticated, along with a certified copy.

If the certificate is issued outside Yemen, it must be authenticated (original and copy) by the following authorities:
- Ministry of Education in the issuing country
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country
- Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the issuing country
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a
- Ministry of Education in Yemen for equivalency certification
If the certificate is issued in a non-Arabic language, it must be translated after authentication, and the translated copy must also be authenticated (as outlined above), in addition to obtaining equivalency from the Yemeni Ministry of Education. -
Copy of the national ID card or family card for Yemeni students.

Ten personal photographs (4×6 cm) with a white background, front-facing.

Copies of the first eight pages of the passport for non-Yemenis, provided that the passport is valid for more than one year and includes a residence permit in Yemen valid for at least one year.
Required Documents for Secondary School Graduates from Outside Yemen

Completed application form with all required information, in accordance with university regulations.

Secondary school certificate authenticated (original and copy) by the following authorities:
- Ministry of Education in the issuing country
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country
- Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the issuing country
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a
If the certificate is issued in a non-Arabic language, it must be translated and authenticated (as stated above), and then equated through the Yemeni Ministry of Education. -
Ten personal photographs (4×6 cm) with a white background, front-facing.

Required Documents for Transfer Students from Other Universities
Students Transferring from Yemeni Universities to UST:
In addition to the above requirements, applicants must provide:
- An official transcript authenticated by the Yemeni Ministry of Higher Education
- Certified copies of the transcript
- A certified copy of course descriptions or curriculum content from the previous university
Students Transferring from Universities Outside Yemen:
In addition to the above requirements, applicants must submit:
- A transcript authenticated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country
- Authentication by the Yemeni Embassy in that country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana’a
- The transferring institution must be recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education
- A certified copy of course descriptions or curriculum content
If the transcript is in a non-Arabic language, it must be translated and authenticated as stated above.
After completing the application, applicants are requested to visit the Registration Committee at the university to submit documents, pay fees, and finalize the admission procedures.
