Dean’s Welcome Message to Students of the Women’s Branch

I am pleased and honored, on my own behalf and on behalf of all staff members of the Women’s Branch at the University of Science and Technology (UST), to welcome you, my dear students, as well as all visitors to the branch’s page on the university’s official website.
UST is a leading institution that, since its establishment, has embraced a wide range of academic disciplines across the medical, engineering, technological, administrative, and humanities fields.
In its commitment to providing distinguished educational opportunities for all, the university took the initiative in 1994 to establish a dedicated branch for female students. This step reflected the founders’ strong belief in the importance of creating a suitable and supportive environment that would enable Yemeni women to access higher education more effectively.
The Women’s Branch has been equipped with comprehensive facilities and resources, including a library, modern educational aids, and practical laboratories furnished with the latest equipment. It also offers a range of supporting services, including student housing, an indoor sports hall, transportation services, a nursery, and a kindergarten. All of these facilities have been designed to provide an ideal educational environment where students can acquire knowledge and skills under the guidance of distinguished Yemeni and Arab academic professionals. Upon graduation, they join the ranks of UST alumni and contribute to the development and prosperity of our beloved Yemen.
My dear students, I wish you every success in your academic journey. I encourage you to dedicate your utmost efforts to acquiring the knowledge, competencies, and skills that will empower you to enter the labor market with confidence, professionalism, and excellence.
May you achieve continued success and distinction.
Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.
Dr. Suzan Al-Harawi
Dean of the Women’s Branch
