Sana’a — As part of the educational and practical activities of the program, the International Business Administration (BBA) program executed a field visit for third-year students to the Main Branch of Saba Islamic Bank in the capital, Sana’a, on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 (corresponding to Rabi’ al-Akhir 5, 1448 AH), under the supervision of Dr. Alaa Al-Din Al-Sharjabi.
The visit aimed to enhance students’ practical competencies, familiarize them with the nature of banking operations, procedures, and activities, and provide firsthand exposure to professional practices within the Yemeni banking sector.
The students were welcomed by Mr. Abdo Al-Shujaa, Mr. Mohammed Mansar, and Mr. Ayman Solan from the bank’s Human Resources and Training Department, who provided the necessary facilitation to ensure the success of the visit.
The program featured two specialized lectures. The first, titled “Banking Procedures and Activities,” was delivered by Dr. Fahd Al-Salmi, Manager of the Branches Department, who discussed the nature of banking work and the mechanisms for executing banking procedures and services. The second lecture, covering “Banking Risks and Compliance,” was presented by Mr. Amer Al-Ameri, Assistant Manager of the Risk and Compliance Department, who reviewed the concept of banking risks, the importance of managing them, and compliance with the regulations and controls governing banking operations.
Both lectures witnessed active discussions and engagement from the students, which effectively bridged academic theories with practical realities and deepened their understanding of banking environments and financial institutions.
This visit falls within the continuous keenness of the International Business Administration program to foster integration between academic and practical facets, equipping students with field experience that aids in preparing them for the labor market.
At the conclusion of the visit, the students and the academic supervisor expressed their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the management and staff of Saba Islamic Bank for their warm reception, cooperation, and the valuable information and facilitation provided, which greatly enriched the students’ experience.
