Hodeidah- The Environmental Awareness and Education Administration at the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in Al-Hodeidah Governorate implemented an awareness campaign under the slogan “A Conscious Generation“, targeting male and female students of the University of Science and Technology (UST) – Al-Hodeidah Branch, with the aim of enhancing environmental awareness, establishing positive behaviors towards public cleanliness, and spreading the culture of preserving the environment.
The campaign included the implementation of a number of awareness and guidance activities aimed at introducing the concepts of environmental awareness and their importance in the life of the individual and society, introducing the types of waste and methods of proper handling, and the importance of reducing wrong practices that negatively affect the environment and public health. The campaign also focused on encouraging male and female students to contribute effectively to spreading the culture of cleanliness, preserving the civilized appearance of the city, and enhancing responsible behaviors towards the environment.
This campaign comes within the orientations of the Cleaning and Improvement Fund aimed at expanding the scope of environmental awareness and reaching various segments of society, foremost among them university students, as they are an active and influential segment capable of transferring knowledge and positive practices to their family and social surroundings and contributing to bringing about positive and sustainable change in societal behavior.
The campaign embodies a model of community partnership between the University of Science and Technology (UST) – Al-Hodeidah Branch and the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the governorate, based on the integration of roles and the unification of efforts in serving the community and enhancing environmental responsibility. It also affirms the importance of cooperation between educational and service institutions in establishing environmental awareness.
