Sana’a – Within the framework of enhancing academic and practical knowledge in the field of translation, third-level media male and female students at the University of Science and Technology organized a visit to the Language and Translation Center at Sana’a University on the morning of Tuesday, January 28, 2025. The visit was supervised by the esteemed Dr. Essam Al-Jubaei, professor of the Media Translation course.
The visit aimed to explore the center’s departments and translation units, and included a discussion on how to benefit from the center’s services in the academic and professional fields. The Director of the Center, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Taj Al-Din, received them and highlighted the importance of translation in our scientific and professional lives. The students were also welcomed by the Head of the Translation and Computer Department, Prof. Dr. Abdul-Wadoud Al-Nazili, who gave an introduction to translation in past and modern times. Additionally, Prof. Dr. Faisal explained that translation work aims to integrate technology into translation through the use of computer-assisted translation software, emphasizing the importance of digital transformation in translation and how it can contribute to improving efficiency and speed. It was also emphasized that students should acquire professional translation skills through workshops and practical training.
The visit provided a valuable opportunity to learn about the Language and Translation Center at Sana’a University and its significant role in serving students and researchers, as well as understanding the workflow mechanisms at the translation center. We thank the center’s management and all those in charge for their warm reception and cooperation.
