Ibb– In a step strengthening communication between school and higher education, the University of Science and Technology Ibb branch received a group of high school female students from Modern Yemen Schools on a field tour brimming with knowledge and practical experiences.
The delegation was warmly received by branch director Dr. Mokram Al-Jamali, alongside the head of the Student Affairs Department and the Director of Public Relations and Marketing at the branch. In a welcoming address, Dr. Al-Jamali emphasized that this visit serves as a vital bridge connecting educational stages, noting that the university strives through it to introduce students to the modern and advanced university environment and its broad opportunities across medical, engineering, and computing fields.
During a comprehensive tour of the branch’s departments and advanced laboratories, the visit covered medical, engineering, and computing department labs, in addition to key facilities such as the university library—rich in modern scientific references—and the sports hall equipped to support students’ physical health.
To ensure optimal interaction, the students were divided into small groups, receiving detailed explanations from university experts in biology, blood, chemistry, and anatomy laboratories, among other medical department facilities. Professors and specialists explained the operational mechanisms of each laboratory with precision, focusing on sophisticated equipment such as electron microscopes and analytical devices for blood testing and chemical samples. Pharmacy laboratories were also showcased, acquainting the students with drug preparation processes and efficacy testing.
The visit went beyond visual observation to include hands-on practical engagement with experiments in the medical, pharmacy, and laboratory facilities. The students conducted simple experiments such as analyzing blood samples under a microscope, basic chemical reactions, and anatomical examinations using three-dimensional models. Specialists in the university’s department laboratories praised these activities, noting they form part of the “Open University” program designed to attract young talent amid educational challenges in Yemen.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session where students exchanged views with the professors regarding enrollment opportunities and available scholarships, followed by an expression of gratitude to the university branch administration for their warm reception and hospitality.
