Master of Business Administration (English)

 

The College of Administrative Sciences launched its Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in Arabic several years ago and has since worked diligently to refine and accumulate the expertise and knowledge necessary to enhance the quality of the program and improve its learning outcomes in line with local and international requirements. Building on its accumulated experience, solid academic background, and advanced infrastructure, and in response to the growing demand for an MBA program taught in English, the College is now launching the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in English. This initiative also draws on the knowledge and expertise gained from previous joint programs in business administration implemented in cooperation with international universities.
Accordingly, the present document, entitled “Specifications of the Master of Business Administration Program,” has been prepared for the MBA program delivered in English. The document provides a precise description of the intended learning outcomes to be achieved upon completion of the program’s study requirements. It also includes a detailed description of the key teaching methods and strategies used in delivering the program’s courses, in addition to the various assessment methods through which students’ achievements will be evaluated. Furthermore, the document contains other important information that can be utilized in future processes of program evaluation and development.
The program comprises 36 credit hours, including 30 credit hours of coursework and 6 credit hours allocated to the master’s thesis. To progress in the program, students are required to complete all mandatory courses (eight courses), two elective courses, and achieve the required cumulative GPA to be eligible for thesis registration. In addition, students must publish a research paper in the university’s journal and successfully defend their thesis before an academic committee.

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the University of Science and Technology (UST) was established in 2021 as a strategic academic initiative aimed at advancing graduate business education. Since its inception, the program has undergone continuous development and enhancement, reflecting the University’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and relevance. This sustained evolution has ensured that the program delivers strong academic and professional value while remaining responsive to emerging trends and transformations in business administration at both the local and international levels.

From its early stages, the MBA program was carefully designed and benchmarked against internationally recognized and accredited universities, ensuring alignment with global standards, best practices, and quality assurance frameworks. This approach has positioned the program as a competitive and forward-looking offering within the higher education landscape.
Over the years, the program has achieved notable success in preparing graduates who excel in both academic and professional environments. Alumni of the program are distinguished by their strong analytical capabilities, practical business skills, and leadership competencies, enabling them to make meaningful and sustainable contributions to their communities and to diverse business sectors.
A key achievement of the program lies in its balanced integration of theory and practice. It combines solid theoretical foundations with real-world applications, ensuring that students are well equipped to address contemporary business challenges. The program further strengthens its practical orientation by hosting prominent entrepreneurs and business leaders in selected courses and by encouraging the use of academic research to analyze and solve real challenges faced by organizations, both within their internal administrative structures and across their external competitive and marketing environments.

To prepare competent business leaders and entrepreneurs who can meet the needs of local, regional, and global job markets, and are equipped with research competencies, through outstanding academic staff, advanced curriculum, an inspiring environment, and effective partnership, and in line with quality standards and academic accreditation.
