Sana’a — The Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Science and Technology (UST) concluded today the discussions of graduation projects for the seventh batch of Clinical Pharmacy students and the 24th batch of General Pharmacy students for the 1446 AH (2024–2025) academic year. The conclusion took place in the presence of Prof. Dr. Doaa Anwar Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Jamil Al-Dhabhani, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Department, and members of the project discussion committees at the faculty.

The discussion committees praised the submitted projects and the efforts of the male and female students in applying what they learned throughout their years of study, presenting innovative scientific projects that serve the community and align with the needs of the labor market.

The discussion committees emphasized that these projects represent the culmination of the students’ efforts throughout their academic years and serve as a launching pad for them into the labor market, where they will continue to contribute to various health fields.

During the discussion sessions, the students presented their scientific research and graduation projects, totaling 8 scientific projects carried out by approximately 40 male and female students divided into 8 groups. These included a collection of valuable research papers in the fields of pharmaceutical sciences and clinical pharmacy:

  • The prevalence and factors associated with addictive substances among patients in hospitals in the city of Sana’a, Yemen.

  • Drug-related problems and influencing factors among hospitalized psychiatric patients in Sana’a, Yemen.

  • Evaluation of chemotherapy-related adverse drug reactions among hospitalized pediatric cancer patients in the city of Sana’a, Yemen.

  • A comparative study of the antibacterial effect of Oncisif plant extract and its pharmaceutical preparations.

  • The prevalence of respiratory symptoms and pulmonary function disorders among carpenters in the capital city of Sana’a.

  • Innovation of two pharmaceutical ointment/cream formulations containing ciprofloxacin and plant extracts: An innovative approach to combat pathogenic bacteria.

  • Study of the efficacy of the ethanolic extract of the Al-Falaqa plant in combating certain strains of bacteria and fungi.

  • Analysis of folic acid content in pharmaceutical tablets available on the market (4 mg).
