Sana’a – On Sunday, June 14, 2026, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Science and Technology (UST), Dr. Abdullah Al-Jamali, honored Dr. Abdul Salam Mohammed Halboub, a faculty member at the College, in recognition of his outstanding academic efforts and pioneering research contributions that have strengthened the scientific and research presence of both the College and the University at the international level.
This recognition comes in appreciation of Dr. Halboub’s participation as part of a research team in the Global Burden of Disease project, as well as his contribution to publishing two scientific papers in two of the world’s leading Q1-ranked medical journals: The Lancet Neurology (impact factor 45) and The Lancet Infectious Diseases (impact factor 30).
During the ceremony, attended by the Vice Dean, Prof. Jameel Al-Dhabhani, and a number of academic and administrative staff members, the Dean praised Dr. Halboub’s scientific achievement, emphasizing that such research successes represent an honorable model of the University’s academic and research excellence, and contribute to enhancing the scientific standing of both the College and the University while strengthening their presence in international academic circles.
He further noted that the College is committed to supporting and encouraging distinguished researchers, motivating faculty members and scholars to continue their scientific productivity and publication in prestigious international journals, in a manner that advances scientific research and supports community development.
For his part, Dr. Halboub expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the College administration for this recognition, affirming that it serves as a strong motivation to continue his academic and research efforts, contribute to knowledge production, and serve the community.
