♦ Program Message

The College of Dentistry strives to be one of the leading colleges at the local, regional, and international levels by raising the level of performance in academic and administrative aspects, providing a conducive environment for learning, training, and conducting applied research, as well as offering high‑quality therapeutic services to the community. It also seeks to graduate competent dentists capable of applying the skills and experience they have learned efficiently.

♦ Program Objectives

  • Providing a high level of education and training to ensure the qualification of dentists to a high degree and to achieve standards of competence, as well as maintaining contact with graduates to develop their research and professional expertise.
  • Developing the structure of curricula and courses to include student participation in the learning process, developing continuing education to meet quality standards and academic accreditation.
  • Providing oral and dental health services to the public through the College's dental clinic.
  • Developing the skills of faculty members to keep pace with developments in teaching and learning methods, activating partnerships, and developing relationships with other dental colleges and scientific research institutions locally, regionally, and internationally.

♦ Study Duration

  • Five years, followed by an internship year (Excellence Year).

  • Teaching in small, defined groups to achieve better education and a distinguished level.
  • A suitable educational environment including equipped and advanced lecture halls and laboratories.
  • Teaching in English alongside Arabic to better understand health problems.
  • Clinical training in modern dental clinics inside the College.
  • Applying the internship year in the College clinics and obtaining a certified internship training certificate.

  • The University offers an English language teaching program during the first and second years for students after determining their levels and before teaching specialisation subjects in English.
  • Obtaining the International Computer Driving Licence (ICDL).
  • Teaching some requirements that give the student communication, leadership, and critical thinking skills.
  • Healthcare at the University in accordance with regulations and bylaws.
  • Acquiring the latest medical information via computers and the internet.
  • Free internet use during the study period.
  • Availability of necessary books and references in the College library, with a photocopying office for books and handouts to provide student services within the College.

The program aims to equip the graduate with the dentistry knowledge necessary to meet the labour market's needs for national health cadres specialised in dentistry, enabling them to work in all dentistry functions, particularly the following:

  • Hospitals (governmental and private).
  • Medical care centres (governmental and private).
  • Private dental clinics.
  • Medical industries related to dentistry; working as representatives or scientific supervisors in dental materials and equipment companies.
  • Supervisory positions in medical institutions (governmental and private).
  • Faculty membership in colleges and universities.

📄 Required Documents for Registration

First

Required Documents for General Secondary School Graduates

  • Application form, with all information fully completed in accordance with the University's requirements.
  • Original, duly certified General Secondary Certificate or its equivalent, together with a photocopy thereof.
  • If the secondary certificate is from outside Yemen, it must be certified (original + copy) by the following authorities:
    • The Ministry of Education in the country that issued the certificate.
    • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the country that issued the certificate.
    • The Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in the country that issued the certificate.
    • The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana'a.
    If the secondary certificate is from a non-Arab country, it must be translated after certification, and the translated copy must be certified (in accordance with paragraph 3 above), in addition to obtaining its equivalency from the Ministry of Education in the Republic of Yemen.
  • A copy of the personal or family ID card for Yemeni students.
  • Ten personal photographs, size (4×6 cm), white background, front-facing.
  • Copies of the first eight pages of the passport (for non-Yemenis), provided that the passport is valid for more than one year and records a residence in Yemen of at least one year.
Second

Required Documents for Students Transferring from Other Universities

1. Students transferring from Yemeni universities to UST:

  • In addition to the above, they must bring a transcript of the courses the student studied at that university, certified by the Yemeni Higher Education authority, together with photocopies of the transcript, as well as a certified copy from the university showing the scientific content of the courses listed in the transcript.

2. Students transferring from universities outside Yemen:

  • In addition to the above, the transcript must be certified by the Higher Education authority, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country, the Yemeni Embassy there, and the Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sana'a — provided that the institution is recognised by the Higher Education authority. A certified copy from the university where the student studied must also be provided, showing the scientific content listed in the transcript. If the transcript is in a language other than Arabic — for example, if the university is foreign — it must be translated and certified as mentioned above.

🎓 Admission Requirements

First

General Conditions

  • The University admits holders of the General Secondary Certificate in the Republic of Yemen, or its equivalent, with the average determined annually.
  • Submitting all required documents, duly certified, together with the university application form to the Admission and Registration Department.
  • Admission is based on the capacity determined by the University and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education.
  • The student undertakes to comply with the University's regulations, instructions, and bylaws in force during the period of study.
Second

Special Conditions

  • Passing the General Secondary Certificate in the scientific section with an average determined by the Ministry of Higher Education by annual decree.
  • No more than 5 years must have passed since the student obtained the General Secondary Certificate.
  • Passing the admission examination for the bachelor's degree in the following subjects: (Chemistry, Biology, and English), in addition to the basic skills examination and the personal interview.
  • Submitting all required documents: (the application form, the original and a true copy of the certified General Secondary Certificate, a copy of the personal ID card for Yemeni nationals, or a copy of the passport for foreigners, together with 10 personal photographs).
