» Introduction
The Information Technology program was established in 2011/2012 within the College of Computing and Information Technology at the University of Science and Technology. Its aim is to supply the local and regional community with qualified students who have received a good education by providing them with theoretical and practical knowledge in the various fields of information technology — particularly in IT management, programming, databases, web application development, and software engineering in accordance with international standards. In addition, students are trained in the latest information technologies that meet the requirements of the local and external labour market.

» Department Mission
The Information Technology Department at the University of Science and Technology seeks to be a distinguished model of education in both Arabic and English, through effective partnership with a number of prestigious international universities, offering programs that contribute to Yemen's strategic development by preparing specialised human cadres. This is achieved through providing distinguished educational service to its male and female students at the University's main centre in the capital, Sana'a, with a focus on developing curriculum content and activating e‑learning to benefit from the capabilities of related universities and to leverage experts and specialists — with the aim of building modern, distinguished educational programs that strengthen the student's role, involve them, and encourage them to showcase their talents, abilities, and various skills.
The Department also seeks to attract full‑time, competent, and experienced teaching and administrative staff from within Yemen and from mother universities, capable of transferring knowledge and equipping students with essential skills through the latest teaching methods. In addition, the Department works to provide suitable infrastructure for the educational process, including various laboratories, teaching aids, books, references, and specialised periodicals in the field of information technology, as well as continuous assessment and development, and putting in place appropriate remedies and solutions for any problems or shortcomings affecting the educational process.
