UST Taiz (Al-Hawban), Prof. Moaz Abdulsalam, Director of the University of Science and Technology (UST) Branch in Taiz, Al-Hawban, participated in the First Education Forum in Taiz Governorate for 1448 AH. The forum was organized by the Office of Education and Scientific Research in the governorate under the patronage of the Minister of Education and Scientific Research and the Governor of Taiz Governorate, on Sunday, 13 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to June 28, 2026, under the slogan: “Education is Everyone’s Responsibility.”
The forum commenced with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by speeches delivered by Judge Ahmed Al-Musawi, Acting Governor of the Governorate, and Dr. Mohammed Al-Dhaibani, Director of the Governorate Education Office. Both speakers underscored the importance of integrated partnerships and collective responsibility toward education, emphasizing its role as a fundamental pillar in the process of resilience and nation-building, as well as a strategic axis for safeguarding and advancing society.
The forum aimed to strengthen community partnerships in support of the educational process and to unify official and community efforts to advance the education sector and improve the quality of its outcomes.
Participants discussed the current state of education in the governorate and the most significant challenges facing the sector, particularly the need to improve school infrastructure, address student dropout rates, enhance teacher qualification and development, and provide modern educational resources and technologies.
Subsequently, Dr. Mansour Al-Qahtani, Director of Capacity Development in the Education Sector at the governorate level, presented the forum’s main themes. These included a key working paper reviewing the principal topics approved during the First National Education Forum held in Sana’a.
The working paper addressed three primary themes. The first focused on the status of teachers, the challenges they encounter in the field, and potential solutions to address them. The second examined issues related to the availability of school textbooks, the obstacles hindering their provision, and proposed recommendations and practical solutions to overcome these challenges.
