Sana’a – The Deanship of Student Affairs at the University of Science and Technology (UST), in collaboration with its colleges, organized academic orientation meetings on Saturday for newly admitted students for the 2026–2027 academic year. The meetings were held across the University’s various colleges and the Female Students Branch, with the participation of college deans, heads of academic departments, and a number of academic and administrative leaders.
These orientation sessions were conducted as part of UST’s annual reception program for new students, through which the University seeks to prepare students for university life, introduce them to the academic and administrative aspects of their educational journey, and help them begin their studies with confidence and clarity.
The meetings aimed to familiarize new students with the academic and administrative regulations governing the educational process, address their inquiries, explain course registration procedures and study plans, and introduce them to academic pathways and future opportunities available to them.
The sessions also highlighted the new academic programs and specializations introduced at the University for the 2025–2026 academic year. Students were introduced to the nature of these programs, their academic and professional fields, and the promising career opportunities they offer in the labor market, enabling them to gain a clear understanding of the academic options available to them.
During the meetings, college deans, heads of academic departments, and financial and administrative affairs officials welcomed the new students, affirming the University’s commitment to providing a stimulating and supportive educational environment that fosters excellence and innovation. They encouraged students to make the most of their university years by pursuing academic achievement, developing their skills and capabilities, and building their personal and professional competencies.
These orientation meetings reflect UST’s continued commitment to supporting newly admitted students by providing academic guidance and essential support from the beginning of their university journey. They also aim to enhance students’ awareness of the regulations, services, and academic programs available to them, facilitating their integration into the university environment and empowering them to make informed academic choices and achieve their future aspirations.
