Sana'a — The University of Science and Technology (UST) participated in the launch ceremony of the “Sanad for Autism” campaign and the conclusion of the “Awareness and Eid” initiative, organized by the Ibni Center for Autism in cooperation with the Bunyan Development Foundation, and in partnership with the Ministries of Health and Environment, and Education and Scientific Research, and a number of Yemeni universities.
UST was represented at the event by the Deputy President of the University, Prof. Dr. Numan Al-Najjar, in the presence of the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Mahdi Al-Qarwani, Mr. Jamal Zaid, Community Service Officer at the University, and Mr. Abduljabbar Al-Muayyad, Deputy Director of the Relations and Marketing Department.
At the ceremony, a number of speeches were delivered, including a speech by the Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, which in sum emphasized the importance of integrating governmental, academic, and community efforts in supporting children with autism and their families, enhancing community awareness, and providing a supportive environment that contributes to their rehabilitation and integration into society.
UST’s participation comes within the framework of its mission to serve society and enhance social responsibility, and its keenness to support humanitarian and awareness initiatives, and to employ its academic, research, and training capabilities in the service of societal issues.
The ceremony witnessed a review of the most prominent outputs of the “Awareness and Eid” initiative and the awareness efforts in which male and female students of Yemeni universities participated, along with a presentation of the objectives of the “Sanad for Autism” campaign and its programs aimed at supporting children with autism and their families.
At the conclusion of the event, UST was honored in appreciation of its participation and contribution to the success of the campaign and the initiative, and its role in supporting community and awareness activities related to autism issues.
