Sana’a – The activities of the Fifth Poetry Competition and Festival for students of public and private universities and community colleges concluded in Sana’a. The event was organized by the Higher Education Sector of the Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation with the Modern Specialized University, in conjunction with celebrations marking the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s Birthday (1448 AH).
The competition witnessed broad participation from university and community college students, featuring literary and poetic contests aimed at discovering student talents, developing their creative abilities, and promoting interest in poetry, literature, and culture among university youth.
The University of Science and Technology (UST) achieved a distinguished accomplishment in the competition, with student Mukhtar Dhaifallah Saleh Al-Bahri winning second place in the Popular Poetry category, while student Al-Zahraa Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Dailami secured third place in the Classical Arabic Poetry category.
This achievement came after strong competition among a select group of student poets representing various public and private universities and community colleges. Entries were evaluated by a specialized judging panel based on established literary and artistic criteria.
At the conclusion of the event, the winners of the top positions were honored in recognition of their outstanding participation and poetic creativity. Participants received praise for the high standard of their submissions, which reflected remarkable literary talent and creative excellence.
The success of UST students in securing second and third places reaffirms the university’s commitment to nurturing student talents and supporting creativity across diverse fields. It also highlights UST’s dedication to fostering students’ academic, cultural, and creative development, contributing to the formation of well-rounded personalities and the enhancement of their skills and capabilities.
