Sana’a – The College of Medicine and Health Sciences organized an orientation and welcome meeting for first-year students for the 1448 AH academic year. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, Dr. Abdullah Al-Makhlafi, along with faculty members and heads of academic departments. The meeting was held as part of the College’s commitment to welcoming new students, preparing them for university life, and introducing them to academic regulations, study requirements, and the expectations of medical and health sciences programs.
In his welcoming remarks, Dr. Abdullah Al-Makhlafi expressed his pleasure at the students’ enrollment in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and wished them a successful and distinguished academic journey marked by excellence and achievement.
Dr. Al-Makhlafi emphasized that studying medical and health sciences disciplines carries significant scientific and humanitarian responsibility. He noted that success in these fields requires diligence, commitment, discipline, and a dedication to acquiring the knowledge and practical skills necessary to serve society and contribute to the advancement of healthcare.
He also encouraged students to take full advantage of the educational and training opportunities provided by the College, actively participate in academic and practical activities, and build positive relationships with faculty members. He affirmed the College’s commitment to providing a supportive and motivating learning environment that enables students to achieve their academic and professional goals.
During the meeting, department heads and faculty members presented an overview of the College’s medical and health sciences programs, study plans, registration procedures, course requirements, and clinical and practical training components. They also explained key academic regulations, policies, and guidelines that students should understand and adhere to from the outset of their university studies.
The session further highlighted the importance of attendance and academic discipline, making effective use of office hours and academic advising services, and participating in scientific and student activities. Students were also introduced to the various services and support resources available throughout their academic journey.
The meeting witnessed positive engagement from the new students, who were given the opportunity to raise questions and discuss their concerns directly with the Dean and faculty members. This interaction helped strengthen communication, address inquiries, and support students in overcoming challenges they may encounter during the early stages of university life.
