Sana’a – The Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Science and Technology (UST) in Sana’a organized the “Second Oral Health Scientific Day” under the sponsorship of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas.
In his speech during the opening today, in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Olfah Ahmed, and a number of faculty members and college students, the President of the University expressed his pride in the academic and professional leadership achieved by the Faculty of Dentistry as the first dental college established in the Republic of Yemen in 1994. He praised the excellence of the faculty’s graduates, the efficiency of its scientific cadres, and its advanced infrastructure that keeps pace with international standards in medical education.
Prof. Dr. Al-Qasim Abbas emphasized that the educational quality, integrated training, and research aspects enjoyed by the faculty have made it a focal point for academic and professional institutions, both locally and regionally.
He also expressed his thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the former dean, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Jawfi, for his dedication during his tenure, wishing the new dean, Dr. Olfah Ahmed, success in continuing the journey of excellence and elevating the faculty’s performance.
The scientific day witnessed the presentation of specialized scientific lectures delivered by academics and experts in the field of oral and dental medicine, alongside clinical case presentations delivered by college students, covering diagnosis through to treatment at the university’s dental clinics.
This scientific day falls within the faculty’s efforts to enhance the knowledge and practical aspects of its students, especially final-year students, and to consolidate a culture of health awareness and high-quality service provided to the community.
The event included honoring the former Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Khaled Al-Jawfi, as well as the lecturers, members of the Preparatory Committee, and everyone who contributed to the success of this distinguished scientific day.
