The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Science and Technology (UST) held a scientific workshop today aimed at developing the faculty’s academic program plans.
The workshop, which brought together heads of academic departments and program coordinators under the chairmanship of the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Adnan Al-Mutawakel, discussed the development of academic program plans in line with the unified framework approved by the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research.
Participants addressed several key themes related to the advancement of academic programs. These included reviewing current study plans, updating course content to keep pace with scientific and technological developments, and enhancing learning outcomes to better align with labor market needs.
Discussions also focused on mechanisms for standardizing shared courses across academic departments, contributing to greater academic integration, reducing content duplication, and improving the efficiency of the educational process within the faculty.
The workshop concluded with a number of important recommendations and outcomes, most notably emphasizing the need for alignment of program plans with ministerial frameworks, integrating common courses across departments, and establishing follow-up mechanisms to ensure the implementation of proposed updates according to a defined timeline.
