Sana’a – As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of university education and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, the Department of English Language at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized a specialized academic exhibition on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, showcasing a collection of innovative advertising displays prepared by fourth-level Translation students.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Dr. Ali Saleh Al-Ward, Head of the Department of English Language, in the presence of several faculty and academic staff members.
Attendees praised the high quality of the exhibited projects and activities, commending the accuracy of the content, the effectiveness of the language used, and the creative artistic designs that were prominently reflected in the students’ work.
The displays demonstrated the students’ ability to select innovative advertising concepts aligned with modern market demands, develop them visually, and produce advertising content translated accurately between Arabic and English.
The exhibition was organized as a practical application of the Commercial Translation course requirements under the direct supervision of Dr. Iman Al-Sharjabi, the course instructor. The course aims to develop students’ linguistic and translation skills through practical experiences that simulate real workplace environments.
Through such applied activities, the department seeks to refine students’ language and translation competencies, enhance their ability to work with marketing and commercial texts, and provide them with the practical experience necessary to strengthen their readiness and competitiveness in the labor market.
The department reaffirmed the importance of continuing to organize similar application-oriented activities, given their significant role in developing students’ academic character, fostering creativity and professional skills, and contributing to the continuous improvement of educational outcomes.
