Sana'a — The Department of Business Administration at the Faculty of Administrative Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized, on Wednesday, 30 September 2026, a field visit for first-level students in the Business Administration and International Business Administration (in English) programs to the Yemeni Company for Light Food Industries, as part of the applied activities of the Principles of Business Administration course, under the supervision of the course instructor, Ms. Amal Mutahar Khosrof.
The visit aimed to introduce students to the nature of production and administrative operations within industrial establishments, and to provide them with the opportunity to closely learn how the administrative concepts and principles covered in the course are applied in the actual work environment.
During the visit, students listened to an explanation from the officials of the production hall about the stages of manufacturing the company’s products, and then conducted a field tour that included the various stages of the production process, starting from receiving and preparing raw materials, sterilizing them, and purifying them of impurities, passing through mixing, pressing, cutting, and adding flavors, and reaching sorting, packaging, and wrapping.
Students also learned about the diversity of the company’s production lines and products, which include about 20 items, including Numan Chips, a variety of snacks and crackers, and Anis Puffs products, in addition to learning about the procedures followed to ensure product quality and safety.
On the administrative side, students reviewed a number of practices related to quality management and control over operations and production, including the inspection stages and verifying that products conform to specifications and standards before, during, and after the production process, which gave them the opportunity to link the theoretical concepts they study with practical applications in production institutions.
Students praised the level of organization and professionalism they experienced during the visit, expressing their happiness with the capabilities and advanced level of local industry they witnessed, and the diversity and quality of products, affirming that the visit constituted a rich educational experience that contributed to expanding their knowledge and enhancing their understanding of the nature of the business environment and administrative and production operations.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Department of Business Administration at UST expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to the management and staff of the Yemeni Company for Light Food Industries for the warm reception and the information and specialized explanation they provided, which contributed to enriching the students’ educational experience and enhancing the applied aspect of the course.
The Department also valued the efforts of Ms. Amani Al-Khamri in coordinating and preparing for the visit, and the efforts she made that contributed to its success and the achievement of its educational objectives.
