Hudaidah — The University of Science and Technology, Hudaidah Branch, launched over Sunday and Monday the competitive examinations for free scholarships for the academic year 1448 AH – 2026–2027.
The Director of the University Branch, Dr. Mohammed Qaid Al-Laima, was briefed by those in charge of the supervisory and technical committees on the mechanism of the examinations and the criteria for selecting students winning the free scholarships that the University offers annually to general secondary school graduates.
He explained that the number of applicants competing for the scholarships this year reached 320 male and female students across the various departments and specializations at the University Branch in the governorate.
He affirmed that the free scholarship program aims to encourage general secondary school graduates to enroll in university education and to provide outstanding students from limited-income families with the opportunity to continue their university studies in a distinguished educational environment.
He pointed out that the University is keen to support creative and outstanding students so they may become a nucleus for building society and contributing to the comprehensive development process, noting that the competitive examinations are conducted electronically with full transparency and in a manner that ensures equal opportunities among all applicants.
He noted that the University Branch in Hudaidah offers qualitative specializations that meet the needs of the local labor market and contribute to supplying the governorate and neighboring governorates with qualified cadres capable of serving society.
The Branch Director praised the efforts of the supervisory and technical committees and the good organization and preparation for the examinations, affirming the keenness of the University Administration to support the educational process and encourage students toward excellence and distinction.
