Sana’a – As part of the practical applications of the course “Counseling for Individuals with Special Needs and Their Families,” the Department of Psychology and Counseling at the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, University of Science and Technology (UST), in partnership with the Khudh Biyadi Charity Foundation, organized an event entitled “Psychological and Social Support for Mothers of Children with Special Needs,” under the supervision of Dr. Lina Al-Absi.

The event included a group discussion session conducted by the students with mothers of children with special needs. The session aimed to identify their psychological and social needs, explore the most significant challenges and difficulties they face, and provide guidance and counseling to strengthen their psychological and social well-being. The initiative also sought to help mothers develop more positive coping strategies for managing the pressures and responsibilities associated with caring for their children.
The activity further featured a communal breakfast gathering, recognition of the mothers, and the distribution of gifts to both the mothers and their children with special needs. The event took place in an atmosphere characterized by positive engagement, emotional connection, and active participation, reflecting a spirit of support, appreciation, and care for mothers and families of children with special needs.
