Sana’a – On Monday, January 27, 2025, the Department of English Language at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized a workshop for fourth-level translation program students as part of the “Translation Revision and Editing” course, under the supervision of Dr. Eman Barakat.
The workshop witnessed students participating in teamwork to review and evaluate directional signs across the university buildings in both Arabic and English, aiming to improve translation quality to suit this type of text.
This workshop comes within the framework of the university’s continuous endeavor to bridge the gap between theory and practice, enabling students to transition from classrooms to professional practice. Furthermore, such workshops contribute to developing students’ translation skills and understanding how to accurately process various texts.
For her part, Dr. Eman Barakat expressed her delight with the students’ participation in this practical experience, which represents a genuine opportunity to apply what they have learned in their studies, emphasizing the importance of continuing these activities that contribute to developing students’ personal and professional capacities and preparing them to engage in the job market.
