Sana’a – As part of practical training for the Judicial Applications course, third-year female students specializing in Sharia and Law at the University of Science and Technology (UST, Main Headquarters / Sana’a) carried out a field visit to the West Amanah First Instance Court on Tuesday, December 30, 2025. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Ms. Samar Al-Ariqi, teaching assistant in the program.

During the visit, the students were introduced to the court building, its various departments, and the mechanics of judicial workflow. Bassam Al-Samawi, an execution officer at the court, provided a brief explanation of execution procedures, showcasing select case files and pointing out how their color-coding distinguishes them from other files. The students also toured the court’s Information Systems Center, where they learned about its operational mechanisms, how hearing sessions are registered, schedules are set, proceedings are tracked, and electronic archiving is managed.

Furthermore, the students attended actual court sessions, providing them with a unique opportunity to observe trial procedures firsthand and build a practical understanding of the roles played by the judge, the prosecution, the defense, and the litigants. At the conclusion of the sessions, Judge Osama Al-Junaid spoke with the students, explaining the trial procedures in criminal cases.

The students displayed remarkable engagement throughout the visit and were assigned to write a detailed report documenting their observations and insights at the court, allowing them to analyze the experience, address key inquiries, and discuss their findings.
