Sana’a – The Faculty of Administrative and Human Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized a specialized academic workshop to review and approve the Program Description Document for the Master’s Program in Clinical Psychology. The workshop was attended by Prof. Najeeb Al-Maghribi, a member of the Academic Accreditation Council; Prof. Abdulkarim Zubaibah, a mental health expert and Vice President of Dhamar University; along with a number of academics, faculty members from the college, and representatives of relevant stakeholders.
At the opening of the workshop, the University’s Vice President, Prof. Noman Al-Najjar, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of this initiative in launching a distinguished and vital program that responds to the growing societal need for qualified professionals in the field of mental health. He also highlighted the University leadership’s support for such specialized programs, which contribute to improving psychological and medical services in the country.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Ammar Al-Zahari, welcomed the participants, explaining that the workshop aligns with the Faculty’s and the University’s broader efforts to strengthen postgraduate programs and offer academic programs that meet labor market requirements while adhering to accredited regional and international academic standards.
Additionally, Prof. Najeeb Al-Maghribi, representing the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council, underscored the importance of adhering to quality standards in the design of academic programs, commending the University’s efforts in preparing comprehensive and precise documentation that reflects its commitment to academic excellence.
The Head of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Dr. Jehan Al-Nazili, presented the workshop’s main themes, which included the program’s mission, objectives, learning outcomes, study plan, and graduate attributes. These elements were thoroughly discussed and enriched with academic and technical insights from the participants, with the aim of enhancing the document and aligning it with accreditation standards.
