Overview of the Library:

The establishment of an independent library specialized in the field of Dentistry coincided with the modern developments taking place at the University of Science and Technology (UST), as well as the recent advancements introduced in the discipline of dentistry. The library is considered one of the leading specialized libraries that strive to provide high-quality information services, contributing effectively to meeting the needs of its users across different academic levels.
It serves undergraduate students, in addition to offering its services to postgraduate students and faculty members, with the aim of supporting scientific research and enhancing academic curricula.
Library Location:
The Dentistry Library is centrally located among lecture halls, laboratories, and clinics within the Faculty of Dentistry building.

Library Holdings:

  • Books Section:
    The library contains more than 2,000 printed volumes covering various fields of dentistry. This collection includes references, atlases, encyclopedias, and dictionaries.
  • Periodicals Section:
    This section includes numerous journals in the field of dentistry, in addition to university journals and materials received through donations.
  • Theses and Dissertations Section:
    This section comprises distinguished undergraduate research projects, along with a number of Master’s and PhD theses in the same field.
  • Software and CD-ROM Section:
    This section contains a variety of digital materials and scientific resources related to dentistry, research, and academic projects.
  • Library Laboratory:
    Equipped with computers designated for scientific research and access to the electronic library. The library also provides a wireless network for users’ personal devices.
Library Services:
The library offers the following services:
  1. Borrowing and returning books through an automated system in accordance with lending regulations.
  2. Guidance and orientation for library users on how to access and utilize information resources.
  3. Training on the use of the electronic library and its services.
  4. Organization and classification of library materials to facilitate access to information.
  5. Current awareness services regarding newly acquired references and periodicals.
  6. Assistance to researchers in identifying their reference needs through the library’s automated system.
  7. Provision of a suitable environment for reading and research, ensuring adherence to library regulations.
  8. Availability of computer laboratories for academic research.
