Sana’a – The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research organized on Saturday, August 15, 2026, corresponding to 2 Safar 1448 AH, at 10:00 a.m., a public defense of the Master’s thesis in Islamic Studies submitted by researcher Amat Al-Salam Ahmed Musaed Ali Al-Durab. The defense was held in the Seminar Hall at the College of Medicine building.
The thesis, entitled “Modernist Terminology and Islamic Thought: An Approach to Implications and Responses—An Analytical Study,” examined modernist terminology in relation to Islamic thought, focusing on its implications and possible approaches to addressing it.
The defense committee comprised Dr. Abduh Mohammed Yusuf Ali, Professor of Comparative Fiqh at Sana’a University and the External Examiner, who chaired the committee; Prof. Mohammed Abdullah Abduh Shaiban, Associate Professor of Comparative Fiqh at the University of Science and Technology and the Internal Examiner, as a committee member; and Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Ali Abu Ghanem, Assistant Professor of Islamic Creed at Dhamar University and the researcher’s supervisor, as a committee member.
The defense was attended by a number of faculty members, postgraduate students, researchers, academics, and those interested in the field, as well as the researcher’s relatives and colleagues.
The committee listened to a brief presentation by Amat Al-Salam Ahmed Musaed Ali Al-Durab outlining her thesis, its objectives and significance, and the findings reached by the study. The committee commended the thesis submitted by the researcher and praised her academic and research capabilities.
