
Program Mission:
The master of Pharmacology program at UST strives to prepare students for pursuing advanced knowledge and skills as well as research careers in the pharmacological/ biomedical industry or academia, and/or advanced degrees at other institutions that contribute to the community service.
Program Goals:
This program aims to:
1. Provide students with a thorough understanding of the development, and use of safe and effective medicine.
2. Produce graduates as professional pharmacologists who can promote public health through optimal practice and advanced research.
3. Envision students to develop research skills in terms of planning, conducting, evaluation, reporting, and presentation of results.
4. Enhance students’ critical, analytical, practical, and communications skills.

Intended Learning Outcomes can be classified into:
A- Knowledge and Understanding:
A1. Explain advanced pharmacologic concepts of drugs including pharmacokinetics therapeutics and their toxicities. pharmacodynamics, clinical.
A2. Identify the molecular basis of the discovery and mode of action of drugs.
A3. Discuss various aspects of research design and statistical techniques in pharmacology research.
A4. Mention essential facts of supportive sciences including principles of pharmacology and biochemistry and others related to basic systematic and experimental pharmacology.
A5. Describe the principles of drug fate in the body in advanced and clinical aspects.
B- Intellectual Skills:
B1. Correlate the relevant facts of basic and clinically supportive sciences with reasoning, diagnosis and management of common problems of pharmacology.
B2. Create appropriate research methodologies in the design, planning and execution of projects.
B3. Design a case presentation through seminars/journal the most themes related.
C- Professional and Practical Skills:
C1. Demonstrate the ability of evaluation and reporting of the results of investigations.
C2. Use the up to date information and technology for the conditions related to pharmacology.
C3. Appraise evidence from scientific studies.
C4. Implement appropriate laboratory skills, including safe working practices.
