Taiz-Al Hawban – As part of its commitment to academic expansion and meeting the needs of the local community, the University of Science and Technology (UST) branch in Taiz-Al Hawban received a ministerial committee from the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research this morning on an official visit aimed at evaluating the university’s readiness to launch the Sharia and Law Program.
The committee was chaired by Prof. Bashir Abdullah Al-Emad, Dean of the Faculty of Law at Ibb University, and included Prof. Fouad Mohammed Al-Adaini, a faculty member at the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Sana’a University. They were welcomed by Prof. Muath Abdul-Salam, Director of the UST Taiz Branch, who emphasized the significance of the visit in supporting the university’s plans for academic expansion and enhancing the quality of higher education in the region.
During the visit, the committee reviewed the academic facilities and infrastructure designated for the Sharia and Law Program, including classrooms, administrative offices, and the specialized library.
The university also presented a comprehensive overview of the academic plan for the new program, highlighting official documentation, technical requirements, and the quality assurance standards adopted to ensure excellence in education and academic qualification.
The Sharia and Law Program represents a valuable addition to the bachelor’s degree programs offered by UST and comes in response to the growing need within Yemeni society for qualified legal professionals who combine expertise in both Islamic jurisprudence and legal studies.
