Taiz-Al Hawban – The University of Science and Technology (UST) branch in Taiz-Al Hawban celebrated the graduation and farewell of the “Pharmacy Elite” cohort, comprising forty-nine graduates from the Department of Pharmacy, on Monday, 14 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to 12 May 2025, at Al-Jawlan Hall in Al Hawban.
During the ceremony, Mohammed Hassan Al-Qairi, Head of Student Affairs, delivered the university’s address, welcoming the distinguished guests and conveying the greetings and congratulations of the branch leadership and the department to the graduates and their families. He wished the graduates success in their professional careers and future integration into the labor market.
Al-Qairi noted that the celebration coincided with the opening of admissions and registration for the university’s various academic programs and specializations. He highlighted the educational and community services provided by the branch to the people of Taiz Governorate and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to serving students and supporting community development.
Speaking on behalf of the graduates, Nader Al-Salwi, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the university leadership, the Department of Pharmacy, faculty members, and all administrative and technical staff for the support and guidance they had received throughout their studies. He also praised the collective efforts that enabled him and his fellow graduates to reach this significant milestone. In his remarks, he reflected on the knowledge and professional values they had acquired during their academic journey, emphasizing the noble mission of the pharmacy profession and its vital role in safeguarding human health and well-being.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the graduates’ procession and the performance of the Yemeni and Palestinian national anthems. The graduates then took the Medical Oath, administered by Dr. Bashir Murshid, Head of the Department of Pharmacy.
The event concluded with the recognition of the graduates by representatives of the university, the department, and academic program coordinators. Members of the organizing committee subsequently honored faculty members and event sponsors in appreciation of their contributions and support. The celebration also featured a variety of artistic and creative performances, which were warmly received by the audience.
