Taiz-Al Hawban – The Department of English Language and Translation at the University of Science and Technology – Taiz organized a public defense of graduation research projects for department students on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, for the 2024-2025 academic year. The event was held at the branch campus in Al Hawban and was attended by Prof. Muath Abdul-Salam Bashar, Branch Director, and Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Emad, Head of the Department of English Language and Translation, along with a distinguished group of faculty members.
The session featured presentations of a number of student research projects, during which the general framework of each study, the scientific methodologies employed, as well as the findings and recommendations were reviewed. The examination committee consisted of Prof. Ahmed Taher (Chair and External Supervisor), Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Emad (Member and Internal Examiner), and Dr. Mohammed Al-Asbahi (Member and Internal Examiner).
Students were examined on their research topics, methodologies, analytical approaches, and key recommendations, with the aim of evaluating the quality of their work and enhancing their scientific research skills.
Committee members praised the quality of the research presented and the students’ distinguished academic performance, emphasizing the importance of such activities in developing research competencies and strengthening students’ academic capabilities in translation and linguistic studies. They also stressed the necessity of adhering to academic standards in the preparation of scholarly research, given its vital role in ensuring educational quality and keeping pace with contemporary developments in the field of translation.
The discussions will continue over two days and are scheduled to conclude on Wednesday, 26 February 2025.
This event reflects the university’s commitment to promoting scientific research and developing students’ capabilities in line with the latest academic and professional advancements, while preparing qualified graduates capable of meeting the demands of both local and international labor markets.
