Taiz-Al Hawban – Under the patronage of Prof. Muath Abdul-Salam, Director of the branch, the University of Science and Technology (UST) branch in Taiz-Al Hawban concluded the activities of the free training program, “How to Choose Your University Major,” offered to high school students on Sunday morning, 21 Dhul-Qi’dah 1446 AH, corresponding to 19 May 2025.
The annual program, implemented by the Center for Consultation and Development over two consecutive days at the branch campus in Al Hawban, was delivered by trainer Abdullah Al-Sabahi. It covered several key topics, including:
- Scientific criteria for selecting a university major.
- Methods for choosing an academic specialization based on personal abilities and aspirations, grounded in scientific principles.
- Identifying personal interests through a vocational interest assessment.
- Discovering cognitive and intellectual capabilities.
- Exploring educational opportunities and labor market prospects.
As part of the practical component, participants were divided into field teams to gain firsthand insight into academic disciplines, their intellectual requirements, cognitive dimensions, and financial considerations, as well as the career opportunities associated with each specialization.
At the conclusion of the program, participants expressed their strong appreciation for the knowledge and guidance provided, emphasizing its value in developing their skills in selecting academic majors that align with their intellectual abilities and personal interests. They also extended their gratitude to UST for offering such programs and commended the university’s continued efforts and academic services in supporting students and advancing educational excellence.
