Taiz (Al-Hawban) – Prof. Moaz Abdulsalam, Director of the University of Science and Technology (UST) Branch in Taiz, Al-Hawban, inaugurated this morning, Wednesday, 22 Safar 1448 AH, corresponding to August 5, 2026, the competitive scholarship examinations for the 1448 AH academic year.
During the inauguration, the Branch Director reviewed the progress of the online examinations conducted in the computer laboratories and listened to a briefing from the supervising committee regarding the implementation of the approved organizational procedures and examination arrangements. These measures were designed to ensure a suitable testing environment that guarantees transparency and equal opportunities for all applicants. He commended the quality of preparation, organization, and the efforts exerted to ensure the success of the event.
The Branch Director emphasized that the competitive scholarship program reflects UST’s commitment to attracting outstanding students and supporting them academically as part of its mission to provide distinguished educational opportunities that contribute to preparing qualified professionals equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to serve society and actively contribute to development.
He added that the scholarships represent one of the university’s community initiatives, reflecting its firm belief in the importance of supporting high-achieving students, promoting equal opportunities, and encouraging a spirit of academic competition among high school graduates. Such initiatives contribute to preparing a capable generation able to meet future challenges.
He further explained that the scholarships cover several disciplines, including Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Information Technology, Digital Marketing, and Translation. These fields are aligned with labor market needs and keep pace with scientific and technological advancements.
The organization of these examinations comes as part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote academic excellence, expand access to higher education, and strengthen its role in community service through the provision of high-quality university education.
