Sana’a – The University of Science and Technology (UST) today, Tuesday, April 14, 2026, hosted the periodic consultative meeting of a number of private universities in Sana’a, as part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation and exchange expertise in a manner that contributes to enhancing performance efficiency and advancing the educational process.
The meeting aimed to consolidate partnerships among the participating educational institutions and to discuss the most prominent challenges and opportunities facing the higher education sector. It also sought to review best practices and successful experiences that would contribute to raising the level of academic and administrative performance and improving the quality of educational outcomes.
The meeting was opened with a welcoming address by Dr. Fouad Hanish, Secretary General of the University, in which he welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such consultative meetings in strengthening integration among universities and exchanging expertise, in ways that positively reflect on the quality of institutional performance.
He further noted that the current phase requires greater coordination and joint action to keep pace with the rapid developments in the education sector, thereby contributing to achieving excellence and leadership for educational institutions.
For her part, Dr. Huda Al‑Emad, Advisor to the President of the University, affirmed that this meeting represents a serious starting point toward developing a shared roadmap for the participating universities. This roadmap aims to identify the most significant challenges and threats they face and to work in a team spirit to achieve continuous improvement and development.
She stressed the importance of adopting quality standards and academic accreditation as fundamental references for performance development, in a manner that enhances institutional efficiency and elevates educational outcomes to meet labor market requirements.
The meeting witnessed rich discussions and valuable contributions from the presidents of the participating universities, reflecting their keenness to exchange knowledge and expertise and their pursuit of building effective partnerships that support development pathways and sustainable improvement.
