Sana’a – The University of Science and Technology (UST) today presented its annual report before the Committee for Reviewing Annual Reports of Higher Education Institutions at the Ministry of Education and Scientific Research, as part of the annual meeting organized by the Higher Education Sector, chaired by Deputy Minister of Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hatem Al-Duais, and attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Higher Education Sector Dr. Ibrahim Luqman and members of the committee.
UST was represented at the meeting by the Advisor to the President of the University Dr. Ali Yahya Sharaf Al-Din, Advisor Dr. Huda Al-Amad, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Dr. Amin Al-Kastaban, Director of Branches Dr. Nasr Al-Ahmadi, along with a number of members of the university’s annual report preparation team.
The report highlighted key performance indicators and achievements attained by UST over the year across several domains, including strategic planning, governance and leadership, teaching and learning, digital transformation, quality assurance, scientific research, student activities, community service, and human and financial resources. It also outlined future development plans aimed at enhancing institutional performance and advancing the quality of academic outcomes.
Dr. Ibrahim Luqman, Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Higher Education Sector, emphasized that annual reports represent a fundamental tool for evaluating institutional performance, diagnosing challenges, and improving the quality of higher education. He added that such reports have become an effective means for performance measurement, future foresight, and decision-making, affirming the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with universities and providing technical support to elevate the quality of higher education.
In turn, Dr. Ali Yahya Sharaf Al-Din, Advisor to the President of UST, stressed the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of quality and continuous evaluation, and to benefiting from feedback and recommendations in ways that enhance academic and administrative performance, as well as reinforce the university’s standing and leadership in higher education.
At the conclusion of the session, the committee commended the annual report submitted by UST, noting that it was comprehensive and well-integrated across all areas. The committee further affirmed that the report reflected an advanced level of institutional performance and adherence to systematic evaluation and continuous development, thereby supporting the university’s progress toward excellence and academic accreditation.
