Sana’a – The College of Administrative and Human Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) organized a workshop on Thursday, July 30, 2026, to review and approve the mission, objectives, study plan, and learning outcomes of the Digital Media Program. The event brought together a distinguished group of academics, specialists, and representatives of relevant stakeholders as part of the university’s commitment to developing its academic programs in accordance with quality assurance and academic accreditation standards, while introducing new programs that respond to labor market demands and the ongoing digital transformation in the media sector.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Munther Ishaq, Dean of the College of Administrative and Human Sciences, emphasized that the university places great importance on introducing and developing specialized academic programs that keep pace with rapid developments in the fields of media and communication. He noted that such initiatives contribute to preparing qualified graduates equipped with the professional and technical competencies required by the labor market.
For his part, Dr. Yousif Salman, Coordinator of the Digital Media Program and the Radio and Television Program, together with Mr. Abdulbasit Al-Jabari, Coordinator of the Public Relations and Advertising Program, presented the mission, objectives, learning outcomes, and study plan of the Digital Media Program. They explained that the program has been designed in accordance with the latest academic standards, with a focus on developing skills in digital media production, digital platform management, content creation, and multimedia journalism.
The workshop featured productive academic discussions and valuable contributions from faculty members and specialists from UST and several Yemeni universities, as well as media professionals and representatives of relevant organizations. Participants reviewed the program curriculum and learning outcomes and provided observations and recommendations aimed at enhancing the program’s quality and strengthening its academic and practical components.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the proposed amendments and recommendations were approved, and the final version of the program was endorsed in preparation for completing the procedures required for its accreditation and official launch. The program is expected to contribute to supplying the labor market with highly qualified graduates possessing the competencies and skills needed in the field of digital media.
The workshop was attended by Dr. Abdullah Al-Razihi, Member of the Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance Council; Dr. Jehan Al-Nuzaili, Head of the Department of Social Sciences; a number of faculty members from the Department of Media; academics from Yemeni universities; representatives of employers and relevant institutions; and a group of media students from the university.
