Sana’a – The College of Pharmacy at the University of Science and Technology organized today a scientific seminar entitled “Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications in Medicine and Drug Discovery,” presented by Engineer Aya Khurais, a software developer and researcher in the field of artificial intelligence.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Abdullah Al-Jamali, Dean of the College, Prof. Jameel Al-Dhubhani, Vice Dean, as well as a number of faculty members and undergraduate and Master’s students enrolled in the College’s Pharmacy programs.
The seminar explored the concept of artificial intelligence and its most prominent applications in the medical and pharmaceutical fields, with a focus on its growing role in advancing healthcare and supporting researchers in drug discovery and development, medical data analysis, and the development of more efficient and accurate solutions across various stages of treatment and research.
The seminar aimed to introduce Pharmacy students to the potential offered by artificial intelligence in medical and pharmaceutical fields, raise their awareness of the importance of integrating modern technologies into their areas of specialization, and prepare them to keep pace with the rapid transformations taking place in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors. This, in turn, contributes to developing their scientific and research skills and opens new horizons for learning and innovation.
The seminar also provided students with an opportunity to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence and examine its potential uses in scientific research and pharmaceutical practice, thereby strengthening the integration of pharmaceutical knowledge with modern digital technologies.
The seminar comes as part of the College of Pharmacy’s commitment at UST to developing students’ skills, fostering a culture of innovation and scientific research, and linking academic education with the rapid technological developments in the fields of medicine and pharmacy.
