Sana’a – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) concluded the scientific seminar discussions of fourth-year students in the Department of Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging. The seminars, held over two days, were organized as part of the Faculty’s and the Department’s commitment to fostering scientific research skills and enhancing students’ abilities in academic presentation, discussion, and analytical thinking in line with the rapid advancements in radiology and medical imaging. The activities were supervised by Prof. Awadh Al-Qubati and Dr. Safaa Abbas Al-Mujahid, with academic coordination by Dr. Thanaa Abu Hadi and Eng. Fatimah Al-Qasimi.
The seminars featured a range of research projects and scientific presentations highlighting the latest developments in diagnostic and therapeutic radiology. Topics included clinical applications of advanced technologies, the role of artificial intelligence in medical image analysis, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine, and their applications in the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases, contributing to improved patient outcomes and quality of life.
Prof. Amin Al-Falahi, Head of the Department of Radiologic Technology and Medical Imaging, praised the outstanding academic standard demonstrated by the students, noting that the seminars reflected the quality of their academic and research preparation as well as their ability to keep pace with the latest technological advances in the field.
Prof. Al-Falahi stated: “We take great pride in the academic level demonstrated by our students this year. We observed remarkable maturity in their selection of topics and their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications, particularly in the areas of MRI, CT imaging, and the use of modern technologies for the early detection of tumors. This confirms that we are moving in the right direction toward preparing radiologic technologists who possess the scientific and practical competencies needed to operate advanced equipment and meet labor market demands.”
He further emphasized that the Department is committed to integrating research with practical training through clinical placements in hospitals and specialized medical centers, thereby enhancing the quality of educational outcomes and preparing graduates capable of contributing to the advancement of healthcare services and the overall performance of the health sector.
Prof. Al-Falahi also commended the efforts of the faculty members for their scientific supervision and academic guidance, which played a significant role in the success of the seminars and ensured their presentation at a distinguished academic level that reflects the excellence of both the Department and the Faculty.
The closing session was attended by faculty members who supervised and evaluated the seminars, including Dr. Awadh Al-Qubati, Dr. Saddam Al-Zawfi, Dr. Abdullah Taher, Dr. Safaa Al-Mujahid, Dr. Noura Abbad, Dr. Thanaa Abu Hadi, and Dr. Bara’ah Abu Hadi, in addition to other faculty members, academic coordinators, and parents who expressed pride in their students’ achievements.
