Sana’a – The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) witnessed the discussion of a graduation project by students of the Medical Laboratory Department, titled: “A Comparative Study on the Effects of Chemotherapy on Blood Cells: Pre‑ and Post‑Treatment Evaluation Among Cancer Patients in Sana’a – Yemen.”
The discussion was held in the presence of a committee from the College that included Prof. Abdulrazzaq Al‑Aghbari as the project supervisor, and Prof. Abdulhabeeb Al‑Qubati as the examiner, along with several faculty members and students.

The research presented a comparative study of the most significant hematological changes observed in cancer patients as a result of receiving chemotherapy. The analysis covered blood indicators before and after treatment, including hemoglobin levels, red blood cell count, white blood cell count, and platelet count.
The study aimed to assess the extent of chemotherapy’s impact on various blood components and highlight the importance of continuous laboratory monitoring to minimize potential complications and improve the quality of patient care.
The examination committee praised the scientific efforts demonstrated by the students and emphasized the importance of the topic for its scientific and practical value in the medical and laboratory fields. They wished the students success in their academic and professional careers.
