Sana’a – The University of Science and Technology (UST) convened today a broad meeting for its academic and administrative leadership under the theme “Managing Challenges and Ensuring Sustainability.” The meeting was chaired by UST President, Prof. Al-Qasim Mohammed Abbas, with the attendance of Vice President Prof. Nouman Al-Najjar, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance Prof. Amin Al-Kustaban, along with college deans, heads of academic departments, directors of administrative units, and section heads across various faculties and work sites.
In his address, Prof. Al-Qasim Abbas emphasized the critical importance of the current phase, which requires collective effort, teamwork, and a high sense of responsibility to confront the challenges facing the university—challenges that reflect the broader difficulties experienced by private universities due to the exceptional circumstances in the country. He stressed the need to reinforce principles of transparency, quality, and institutional sustainability.
Prof. Abbas highlighted that despite these challenges, UST has successfully maintained its academic and research excellence and continued to deliver high-quality educational services, thanks to the competence, dedication, and professionalism of its academic and administrative staff. He called for ongoing efforts to enhance performance and improve services in alignment with the university’s vision and mission.
He also congratulated all university members, students, and their families on resolving the issue of delays in the authentication of graduates’ documents.
The meeting featured open and transparent discussions marked by seriousness, during which participants reviewed key issues and operational, academic, and administrative challenges. Practical proposals were presented to overcome these obstacles, ensuring continuity of performance and the development of the university work environment.
