Sana’a – The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Science and Technology (UST) held a discussion session today for a graduation research project entitled “Quality of Life Among Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy in Sana’a Hospitals, Yemen (2024-2025)”, as part of the requirements for the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery program.
The research was conducted by students Nawal Nayef Al-Dhubaibi, Al-Batool Sharaf Al-Sharafi, Maram Jameel Al-Gharbani, Asmaa Abdul Salam Al-Kumaim, and Yasmeen Yahya Fatira. The study evaluated the quality of life of cancer patients receiving chemotherapy, with particular focus on the health, psychological, and social dimensions associated with their condition.
During the discussion, the students presented the study’s objectives, methodology, and key findings, which highlighted the importance of strengthening psychological and social support alongside medical care, as well as developing healthcare programs that contribute to improving patients’ quality of life.
The research was reviewed by Dr. Doaa Mutahhar, a faculty member at the Faculty, who commended the students’ efforts and the quality of their research, emphasizing the significance of the topic and its contribution to healthcare and oncology.
At the conclusion of the session, the research project was approved as part of the graduation requirements, with appreciation expressed for its findings and recommendations aimed at enhancing services provided to cancer patients.
