Sana’a – The Deanship of Development and Quality Assurance, in collaboration with the Strategic Planning and Development Department at the University of Science and Technology (UST), organized a workshop today to discuss and approve the outcomes of the strategic direction-setting phase, as part of the preparation of the university’s third strategy.
The workshop, attended by members of the executive committee for strategy development and the teams responsible for the strategic pillars, reviewed the results of the environmental analysis phase, including strategic issues, strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and challenges (SWOT).
Participants also addressed the use of environmental analysis outputs in developing strategic options (TOWS) and determining strategic positioning. The working groups approved the strategic options and formulated the strategic pillars and directives, contributing to the development of integrated strategic axes that support institutional advancement and enhance the university’s ability to achieve its future vision.
Prof. Ameen Al‑Kastaban, Dean of Development and Quality Assurance, emphasized that this workshop is part of a series of workshops aimed at finalizing the university’s third strategy in preparation for its adoption as a roadmap for the next phase of development. He noted that the preparation process follows a participatory approach based on environmental analysis and strategic orientation, ensuring a realistic and actionable strategy that responds to institutional development needs and keeps pace with local, regional, and global changes.
