Sana’a – The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Science and Technology (UST) has concluded a series of specialized free training programs in the field of solar energy, targeting high school students and university graduates. This initiative comes as part of the University’s efforts to develop youth skills and enhance their readiness to integrate and compete in the labor market.
The training programs included two specialized courses: the design and installation of residential solar energy systems, and the design of solar-powered pumping systems. Participants acquired advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the fundamentals of solar system design, methods of selecting appropriate components, calculating electrical loads, and designing solar pumping systems in accordance with recognized technical standards.
The courses were delivered by Prof. Abdulaziz Al-Dhabhani, an academic and expert in solar energy, who introduced participants to the latest concepts and practical applications in renewable energy technologies. The training emphasized applied aspects that meet labor market needs and contribute to preparing qualified professionals capable of keeping pace with rapid developments in this vital sector.
At the conclusion of the programs, which were implemented by the Faculty in collaboration with the University’s Scientific Club, participants expressed their appreciation to the University for offering such high-quality training opportunities. They praised the scientific and practical content of the courses, highlighting the valuable knowledge and hands-on experience gained, which helped enhance their professional capabilities and open new career prospects in the job market.
